The purpose of this website is for students/tradespeople to gain knowledge and understanding of the requirements with which electrical installations in buildings and premises must comply. You can learn how to use various Australian Standards to determine maximum demand, calculate voltage drop and assess installation conditions for cables for mains, sub-mains and final sub-circuits. This will develop the persons ability to select optimum cables for installations. You will be able to apply the Australian Standards requirements for control and protection of circuits, earthing, supplementary protection, damp situations and switchboard arrangements for various installation types. You can also learn how to determine the requirements for aerial and underground wiring for given installations.
